Strife at the Salanjo Salon!

Well needs must and in the absence of my resident Salanjo Coiffeur, Jo, I had to take matters into my own hands this morning and put on the colour myself. I mixed up the colour and developer and rubbish bag around my neck, stood in front of the mirror and liberally applied it!

Whilst it was setting, Geoff moved the boat so we were backing onto the wharf and we could kill two birds with one stone…

I could wash off the colour, and shampoo my hair at the dirty old sink and tap on the quayside, saving water, always a precious commodity on the boat (especially when our watermaker has been broken for some weeks) and then Geoff could attach a hose and we could refill the tanks from said tap.

Thrilled at how it all went to plan, including washing the colour off at exactly 30 minutes even though we had a quick boat manoeuvre in the middle of the colour setting, shampooed and conditioned, I was feeling extremely pleased with myself having overlooked one vital mistake!

I put on exactly the same amount of colour as I did last time not allowing for the fact that I got shorn last week, so when I got back on the boat, I was surprised to see that I am now almost a brunette! The best laid plans eh!

As I said in my last blog, the good news is I’m unlikely to bump into anyone I know – but then again, we did bump into Claude and Annabel this week, so who knows. So from brassy blonde with a pretty lacy grey edging, to brunette, let’s see what happens when the sun gets at it, a possible a shade of orange perhaps, then I will have run the whole gamut of shades!
